Fiberweb introduces KleanWipes Static Reduction Sleeve
Fiberweb, speciality industrial materials business, has announced its KleanWipes Static Reduction Sleeve for flexographic printing and converting processes will be available commercially in the second quarter of 2012.
Currently in advanced trials, the technology is said to deliver improved performance for static and dust control across a range of applications and industries. ‘The three-dimensional structure and unique material properties provide a cost-effective and elegant solution to this vexing industry issue.’
The sleeve is easily deployed along critical points along the web path, such as unwind and rewind stations. The universal, elasticized design installs onto a wide range of existing idle rollers without special tools or training, and is easily trimmed to the required width. According to the company, it is effective on coated paper, films and vinyl.
Fiberweb’s trials in cooperation with Edale are said to be demonstrating reduced static at the rewind station, increasing converting speeds. The company is currently seeking additional beta test partners.
